Description
Matcha is a type of green tea made from the whole, powdered tea leaves, and all green tea naturally contains caffeine. In fact, due to the way it’s grown (shaded before harvest, which increases L-theanine and caffeine content) and consumed (you ingest the entire leaf), matcha often has a higher caffeine content than regular steeped green tea and can even be comparable to, or sometimes exceed, the caffeine in a cup of coffee, depending on the serving size and quality.
A typical serving of matcha can contain anywhere from 38 to 176 mg of caffeine.
